Jayson Tatum’s 34-point performance led the Celtics to a dominant 131-91 victory over the short-handed Grizzlies

Jayson Tatum showcased his scoring prowess with 34 points, leading the Boston Celtics to a commanding 131-91 victory over the injury-depleted Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.

Despite missing Jaylen Brown due to a back injury, the Celtics capitalized on the Grizzlies’ short-handed roster, with Kristaps Porzingis contributing 26 points, Derrick White adding 15, and Al Horford chipping in with 11.

Tatum, who also recorded eight rebounds and seven assists, was efficient from beyond the arc, making 6 of 12 three-point attempts. With the game well in hand, Boston’s reserves took over, securing the team’s 23-3 home record at TD Garden.

Scotty Pippen Jr. led the Grizzlies with 19 points, while GG Jackson and David Roddy contributed 18 and 14 points, respectively. The Celtics paid tribute to former player Marcus Smart, who received the “Hero Among Us” award for his charitable contributions.

Smart, now with the Grizzlies, was unable to play due to a right ring finger injury.
