LeBron James Surpasses Combined Points Total of All Players in Their 21st NBA Season

In a remarkable display of longevity and dominance, LeBron James, the veteran basketball superstar, has achieved a significant milestone in his 21st NBA season. Following his impressive 30-point performance against the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, James has now scored more points this season than all other players who have ever played in their 21st season combined. His season point total reached an impressive 1,246 points, surpassing the combined total of the five other players who reached the 21-season mark (1,230 points): Vince Carter (562 points), Dirk Nowitzki (373 points), Robert Parish (161 points), Kevin Garnett (122 points), and Kevin Willis (12 points).

The feat of playing 21 seasons in the NBA itself is an incredible accomplishment, let alone outscoring all other players who have reached this milestone. LeBron James continues to defy the conventional limits set by Father Time, as he maintains his position as one of the league’s most dominant players. At 39 years old, James is averaging an impressive 25 points per game, surpassing the combined scoring averages of the aforementioned players in their 21st seasons: Carter (7.4 ppg), Nowitzki (7.3 ppg), Parish (3.7 ppg), Garnett (3.2 ppg), and Willis (2.4 ppg).

It is worth noting that LeBron James is currently the oldest player in the NBA, yet his impact on the court remains unparalleled. The Los Angeles Lakers have seen a significant positive difference when James is on the court this season, with a +83 point differential, compared to a -113 point differential when he is off the court. These statistics highlight his value as a game-changer for his team.

LeBron James shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon and is now only 74 points away from becoming the first player in NBA history to reach the 40,000 career points milestone. Furthermore, he is just 200 points shy of surpassing Brazilian basketball legend Oscar Schmidt’s record for the most points scored in world basketball history, which includes regular season league games, playoffs, and international competitions. Schmidt scored 49,737 points over his 29-year career (1974-2003), while LeBron James, from 2003 to the present, has accumulated 49,538 career points in official professional basketball competitions, including All-Star Games and games played for Team USA.

LeBron’s next opportunity to add to his point total will be against the Los Angeles Clippers on February 28, scheduled for 7 pm with the game broadcast on ESPN. As the Lakers currently hold the ninth position in the Western Conference, they will be aiming to improve their 31-28 record and secure a playoff spot.
