Lakers News: Laker Strategize for the Game of LA Following a Defeat to the Kings

After suffering a 123-107 home loss to the Sacramento Kings, the LA Clippers are determined to bounce back and secure a victory against their crosstown rivals, the Los Angeles Lakers. Broderick Turner of The Los Angeles Times reports on the Clippers’ preparations for the upcoming game. The Kings had an exceptional shooting performance, with a 49.5% success rate on field goals and a 40.5% success rate on three-point attempts.

Clippers head coach Tyronn Lue, a former champion with the Lakers, emphasized the importance of mental focus and understanding the necessary steps for success as they approach the playoffs.

Lue stated, “It’s a grind and a long season… so we just have to get back mentally focused, understanding what we need to do if we want to take that next step, going into the playoffs. And so, just mentally focusing, getting back sharp again on both sides of the basketball and taking these days to get better.”

Reserve wing Norman Powell, expected to start in place of the injured Paul George, shared his thoughts on how the Clippers can rebound from their recent loss. Powell highlighted the need to fine-tune certain aspects of their game during the two-day break, particularly focusing on offensive flow and defensive cohesion. Powell expressed confidence in the team’s offensive abilities but stressed the importance of tightening up their defensive performance.

As the Clippers gear up for the Battle of LA, they are determined to address their shortcomings and put up a strong showing against the Lakers.
