Bruce Willis’s admirers are still updated by his family.

The Willis family declared in March 2022 that Bruce was “stepping away” from his long-running acting career due to a linguistic ailment called aphasia that was “impacting his cognitive abilities.”

Along with his wife Emma Heming Willis and his ex-wife Demi Moore, Bruce’s daughters Rumer Willis, Scout Willis, Tallulah Willis, Mabel Willis, and Evelyn Willis signed the post. They have since posted numerous health-related updates on their social media pages.

Bruce’s condition has gotten worse, and Emma posted an update on his diagnosis on Instagram in February 2023. She said that his “more specific diagnosis” is frontotemporal dementia, or FTD.

Along with a touching message regarding Bruce’s diagnosis, Willis family members also shared a picture of the actor on Instagram. Although Bruce’s family finds the news of his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) “painful,” they also noted that “it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.”

Since disclosing his initial illness and subsequent decision to withdraw from acting, Bruce’s close-knit blended family has been transparent about their support for the actor. Liam Neeson and Jamie Lee Curtis are among the Hollywood friends of the actor who have also expressed their support.

March 30, 2022: Bruce Willis’ family reveals his aphasia diagnosis

The Willis family shared the news of Bruce’s decision to step away from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia in late March 2022. The announcement was posted on their Instagram feeds, alongside a photo of the actor.

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities,” the statement began.

“As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” the caption added. The Instagram posts went on to say that it “is a really challenging time” for them all, “and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support.”

“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that,” they concluded, signing the note from the actor’s daughters Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel and Evelyn, plus Bruce’s wife Emma and his ex-wife Demi.
