Anthony Davis Reacts to LeBron James’ 40K Milestone: ‘Might Have to Put a Stop to That’

In a recent game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets at Crypto.com Arena, LeBron James reached a historic milestone by scoring his 40,000th point. However, the Lakers ended up losing the game 124-114.

Anthony Davis, James’ teammate, jokingly teased him about breaking records, saying that they always lose when he does so. James himself expressed disappointment that his achievement came in a defeat, emphasizing his desire to win above all else.

The Lakers’ loss to the Nuggets marked their eighth consecutive defeat against the defending champions, dating back to the previous season. Davis acknowledged the Nuggets’ ability to excel in the final minutes of games and praised their execution. He also highlighted the Lakers’ defensive struggles, mentioning that they often found themselves caught in difficult situations due to overhelping or not helping enough.

Despite the loss, Rui Hachimura contributed 23 points for the Lakers, but Nikola Jokic’s outstanding performance with 35 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists proved to be too much for them to handle.

Additionally, Austin Reaves had 19 points and 14 assists, while D’Angelo Russell scored 17 points despite being benched in the closing moments of the game. Russell was the only Lakers starter who ended the game with a positive net rating.
