Dallas Mavericks’ Luka Doncic and legendary player Dirk Nowitzki were in attendance at Game 2 of the World Series, which unfortunately resulted in a resounding 9-1 loss for the Texas Rangers. However, Doncic is not willing to accept blame for the defeat.
While the Dallas Mavericks are off to an exceptional start to the season, their focus is also on supporting the Texas Rangers in their quest for their first-ever World Series title. The Rangers managed to secure a 2-1 series lead against the Arizona Diamondbacks after triumphing in Game 3 on Monday night. Following the Mavericks’ victory over the Memphis Grizzlies around the same time, Luka Doncic, a dedicated Rangers fan, shared his thoughts on the recent win and dismissed the notion that their loss in Game 2 was due to his attendance.
Doncic playfully remarked, “See? Rangers 2-1,” implying that everything is going well. He then jokingly shifted the blame to Dirk Nowitzki, stating, “Actually, that’s Dirk’s fault, so blame it on Dirk, not me.”
Both Doncic and the Mavericks’ legend Nowitzki have been spotted at two of the Rangers’ postseason games: one during the ALCS against the Houston Astros and now one during the World Series. Coincidentally, the Rangers suffered significant defeats in both games. With the Rangers just two victories away from securing their first championship, the next two games will take place in Phoenix. This raises the possibility that the Rangers may have already played their final home game of the season. However, if the Diamondbacks manage to shift the series back to Texas, perhaps Doncic and Nowitzki should consider attending a watch party instead of the actual game, just to be on the safe side.
Game 4 of the World Series is scheduled for tonight at 7:03 p.m. CT, while the Mavericks aim to maintain their undefeated record against the Chicago Bulls in Dallas on Wednesday night.
