James Gunn refutes the casting rumor regarding Wonder Woman following Gal Gadot’s departure

Once again, James Gunn has refuted a rumor within the DC Universe, this time addressing speculation surrounding the casting of Wonder Woman in the new iteration.

Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman

In the previous DCEU, which concluded with “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” Gal Gadot portrayed Diana Prince. Following uncertainty about Gadot’s return to the role in the new DCU, it was confirmed she wouldn’t be reprising her character. Amidst this, a rumor emerged suggesting Elizabeth Debicki, known for her role as High Priestess Ayesha in the “Guardians of the Galaxy” movies, might assume the role of Wonder Woman.

Gunn swiftly dismissed this claim, clarifying his stance on an online forum, stating, “This is coming from a site that’s just making up a bunch of stuff (I love working with Elizabeth but I’ve never even had this thought).” Currently, the casting for Wonder Woman in the DCU remains uncertain, with no solo film announced for the character.

However, a prequel TV series titled “Paradise Lost” is in development. The upcoming DCU project to be released is “Creature Commandos,” an animated series for Max, with Gunn assuring fans that the show is still in progress. Following this release, “Superman,” previously titled “Superman: Legacy,” is in production, featuring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and will reintroduce the Fortress of Solitude.
