Andre Onana and Manchester United are going through a tough period in the 2023/24 season. The Red Devils have officially run out of chances to qualify for the Champions League next season and are now competing for a spot in the Europa League.

Sharing on Manchester United’s official website, goalkeeper Onana has opened up about the difficult season with the Red Devils. The 1996-born star said:

“This has been a truly difficult season for all of us, both individually and collectively. But we always have to maintain a positive attitude. We let slip the chance to qualify for European competition in the match against Burnley. The entire team has to take responsibility for this.

“If you weigh everything up, you can talk about many things, like injuries, player quality, or the team’s lack of luck. But we are Manchester United, we are a big club, and we cannot use that as an excuse.”

Onana is gradually regaining his form

“We have to maintain the most positive attitude. Last week’s match is over. Let’s think positively; if this hasn’t been the ideal season, I’m sure Man United will be better next season.

“I don’t think my teammates are satisfied with the current situation because I know they all want to win. When we started the season, we talked in the dressing room about fighting for every trophy. But when issues arise, we have to deal with the current situation.

“We have an eagerly awaited final ahead of us and a few more matches in the Premier League. The whole team will strive to end the season in the most deserving way possible.”
