Jason Kidd secures new multi-year deal to continue coaching Luka Doncic and the Mavs

Coach Jason Kidd of the Dallas Mavericks has inked a multiyear contract extension.

In the semifinals of the Western Conference, the Dallas Mavericks will face the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder. The franchise made the decision to extend the contract of head coach Jason Kidd prior to the start of the current season.

Shams Charania of The Athletic reports that Jason Kidd has entered into an extension of his contract with the franchise for multiple years.

After coaching the Milwaukee Bucks for four years and the Brooklyn Nets from 2013 to 2014, the former NBA standout joined the Mavs in 2021. Prior to relocating to Dallas, he was an assistant with the Los Angeles Lakers as well.

Kidd guided the Mavericks to the conference finals in his rookie campaign. Last season, they were eliminated from the postseason prior to Kidd guiding Luka Doncic and company past the first round once more.

This season, he amassed a 50-32 record, which follows 38-44 and 52-30 performances, respectively, the year prior.
